Software Engineer Intern – HR & Finance Systems

Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Software Engineer to support the development and automation of internal tools used by our HR and Finance teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building user-friendly solutions, streamlining workflows, and working closely with non-engineering stakeholders to solve real operational challenges.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to understand workflows and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.

2. Design, develop, and maintain internal tools and dashboards to support performance reviews, recruitment tracking, employee data, and financial operations.

3. Build and maintain integrations between systems (e.g., Ashby, OneDrive, payroll systems) using APIs and automation frameworks.

4. Support and enhance low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform) and write custom code as needed.

5. Ensure data integrity, reliability, and compliance with internal privacy and security protocols.

6. Provide technical support and improvements based on user feedback.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

2. 2+ years of experience in software development or internal tools engineering.

3. Strong proficiency in a programming language such as Python or JavaScript.

4. Familiarity with databases (SQL), APIs, and cloud-based tools.

5. Experience with workflow automation or Microsoft Power Platform is a plus.

6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate operational needs into scalable solutions.

7. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
