We are searching for an execution-oriented Software Engineer who thrives on turning plans into results to join our Platform Insights team. The ideal candidate will have a software engineering background and a history of delivering high quality work in an agile  environment.

The Day to Day:

• Work on building tools for processing large scale logs and metrics

• Build and maintain data engineering pipelines

• Write, test, and maintain software applications that are resilient, robust, and perform at scale for millions of end users. 

• Improve test coverage and build deployment pipelines to safely and rapidly push code.

• Look for opportunities to automate and optimize our processes

• Research new technologies and incorporate them into new and existing systems and products

• Be a phenomenal teammate to the other members of your agile team by communicating, collaborating and building a constructive environment.

• Work closely with Product Management to ensure that your frequent, incremental code changes add new value to our customers
   

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or a related field) OR equivalent experience

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes

• Experience with developing and maintaining APIs and microservices

• Experience with CI/CD, build and deployments pipelines, one of: Jenkins, Google Cloudbuilds or similar

• 2+ years experience in a software development role using agile practices to deliver high quality software

• Ability to work with and switch between multiple languages. We primarily use Python and Go

• Experience with any cloud and containerised technologies and services - GCP, AWS 

Preferred Skills:

• Grafana or other similar visualization platforms

• Experience with New Relic, Datadog or other similar tools

• Time series databases

• Experience working with large data sets

• Data engineering

• Experience with data modeling, designing APIs and SQL development
