The Sr. Director, Strategic FP&A is a high-impact, CFO-proximate role designed for a finance professional who thrives at the intersection of sophisticated financial analysis, executive storytelling, and transaction execution. This is not a traditional FP&A role — it is a strategic seat at the table, working directly with the CFO to shape the financial narrative, prepare the company for significant M&A activity, and elevate the quality of insight delivered to the Board and Executive Leadership Team.

This role operates as a close partner to the Sr. Director, Operational FP&A — a peer relationship built on mutual respect and complementary strengths. While the Operational Sr. Director runs the financial engine day to day, this role looks forward — building the analyses, materials, and transaction capabilities that will define the company's next chapter. The Sr. Director, Strategic FP&A also works in close partnership with the Corporate Development function on all strategic transaction activity.

The role is based in our Tysons, Virginia office 3 days per week, where this leader will also serve as an active, in-person mentor to the broader FP&A team — bringing an outside perspective, raising the analytical bar, and investing in the next generation of finance talent.

Key Responsibilities:

M&A Transaction Readiness & Execution

  • Serve as the primary FP&A lead for future M&A transactions, including full company strategic processes involving private equity sponsors

  • Own financial diligence preparation, including management presentations, CIM financial support, data room readiness, and Quality of Earnings coordination

  • Work hand-in-hand with the Corporate Development Sr. Director to ensure the company's financial story is compelling, accurate, and PE-ready at all times

  • Anticipate and proactively address the financial questions that will arise in a transaction process, drawing on firsthand deal experience

Strategic Analysis & Decision Support

  • Partner directly with the CFO to develop forward-looking financial analyses that drive better strategic decision making

  • Leverage AI and advanced analytical tools to build new analytical frameworks and models that go beyond traditional FP&A outputs

  • Identify and develop new analytical capabilities that provide the business with a sharper view of performance, risk, and opportunity

  • Support ad hoc strategic requests from the CFO and senior leadership with speed, precision, and intellectual rigor

Executive & Board-Level Materials

  • Own the design and quality of Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team financial materials, elevating both the content and the presentation standard

  • Translate complex financial and strategic narratives into clear, visually compelling materials that drive informed decision making at the highes
