Summary/Primary Role:
The Sr. Director, Geothermal Operations is a high-level leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing multi-site operations within construction and geothermal drilling. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills, able to collaborate cross-functionally, and proactively plan projects 6-24 months in advance. They must drive operational excellence by ensuring efficiency and profitability while leading large, multi-disciplinary teams across various locations. This individual will combine operational expertise with a strong focus on people leadership, ensuring project success and employee engagement.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with the organization’s long-term goals.
- Direct and manage day-to-day operations across multiple construction and geothermal sites, overseeing resource allocation, safety, quality, and project timelines.
- Proactively plan and organize projects for the next 6-24 months, ensuring the team is prepared to meet future operational demands and goals.
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to align operational strategies and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Evaluate and optimize performance metrics (KPIs), identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring seamless operations and client satisfaction.
- Lead and mentor regional operations teams, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Act as a strong people leader, focusing on employee development and safety.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct root cause analysis on incidents in conjunction with the EHS department, and proactively manage operational risks.
- Manage and prioritize multiple ongoing projects, ensuring operational excellence and timely completion.
- Identify and implement best practices to improve efficiency and optimize resources, contributing to overall profitability.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience managing and overseeing multi-site or regional operations in construction, geothermal drilling operations, or the oil and gas fields required.
- Experience managing multi-site or regional operations is required.
- Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel to various locations as required by the job.
- Proven success in proactively planning and executing projects over the short and long term.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to organize, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to plan projects 6-24 months in advance and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong knowledge of operational principles, project management, and best practices in construction and drilling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant project management software.
- 10+ years of experience overseeing a drilling operation within geothermal, or the oil and gas fields required.
- Certified Safety Professional (preferred).
- OSHA 30 is required, in lieu of certification, must be willing to complete training within the first 90 days of employment.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does have supervisory responsibility.
Expected Hours of Work:
An Employee must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes, however the expectations of the position will require an average of forty (40) hours with overtime required as scheduled.
