The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is currently seeking a full-time Senior Assistant Attorney General for our Litigation Unit.

 

Position Summary:

The Litigation Unit represents the state in civil proceedings in federal, state, and appellate courts. A Senior Assistant Attorney General will serve as a team leader for attorneys and support staff within the Unit and, in that capacity, will act as a peer reviewer and provide guidance and assistance as needed to the team members.  The successful candidate for this position should have sound legal judgment, strong research and analysis skills, and the ability to understand and communicate complex information and legal issues. The Senior Assistant Attorney General serving in this position will prepare and file civil actions in the appropriate court, conduct civil discovery, draft and respond to motions and other court filings, attend hearings, negotiate settlements, and take matters to trial as needed.  

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must be, or be eligible to become, licensed attorneys in the State of Oklahoma with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience. Strong writing, research, oral advocacy, and proofreading/editing skills, as well as superior attention to detail, are required. Preference may be given to those with experience in complex civil litigation.
