Legal Assistant (Business / Commercial Bankruptcy)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Legal Assistant with a strong background in litigation support and business/commercial bankruptcy. The ideal candidate will provide high-level administrative and legal support to attorneys, ensuring the seamless handling of cases and legal matters. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and research skills, as well as proficiency in legal document preparation and familiarity with bankruptcy processes.

Responsibilities:

• Litigation Support:
• Assist attorneys with case preparation, including organizing evidence, drafting pleadings, and filing legal documents.
• Manage discovery processes, including coordinating document production, reviewing records, and organizing exhibits for trial.
• Conduct legal research using databases and prepare summaries for attorney review.
• Monitor and maintain case deadlines, ensuring compliance with court-mandated schedules.
• Bankruptcy Case Management:
• Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and other related documents under attorney supervision.
• Track and manage court dockets, filings, and deadlines in business and commercial bankruptcy cases.
• Communicate with clients, creditors, and court personnel to facilitate case progression.
• Assist with drafting motions, objections, and other legal documents specific to bankruptcy proceedings.
• Administrative Support:
• Maintain accurate case files and legal databases for efficient access and retrieval.
• Coordinate schedules for attorneys, including court dates, client meetings, and mediations.
• Prepare correspondence, memos, and reports as needed.
• Handle client communications professionally and confidentially.
