As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant at Grand Island Clinic you will provide direct patient care, support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, and ensure efficient clinical operations in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. You will promote exceptional patient care, safety, and compliance while contributing to the overall success of the nursing department.
Qualifications
• Patient Interaction: Greet and assist patients to examination rooms, prepare them for exams or procedures, and provide compassionate care throughout their visit.
• Patient Preparation: Collect and document vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms. Prepare patients for tests or treatments as directed by the healthcare provider.
• Clinical Assistance: Support healthcare providers in routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, wound care, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications and vaccines following provider instructions and clinic protocols.
• Equipment Handling: Ensure medical equipment is sanitized, stocked, and functioning correctly.
• Documentation: Accurately record patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system in accordance with clinic protocols.
• Administrative Support: Assist with processing prior authorizations, referrals, and follow-up calls to patients as needed.
• Patient Education: Provide patients with information regarding treatments, tests, medications, or procedures as directed by the healthcare provider.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with providers, nurses, and clinic staff to ensure smooth clinic flow and patient care.
• Various additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using EMR systems and standard medical equipment.
• Patient Care Skills: Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, medication administration, and patient care best practices.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks efficiently, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to Detail: Accurate in documentation, medication administration, and following clinical protocols.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff, providers, and administrative team members to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant or LPN license in the State of Nebraska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
