ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Director of Asset life cycle management (ALM) is responsible for Engineering and life cycle management of NBCUniversal’s endpoint systems, including, laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and virtual devices. This role will Establish a best-in-class ALM group that has deep knowledge of software/hardware vendor contracts and license terms & conditions, drives cost and usage optimization programs, establishes sound governance practices and promotes and contributes to the continuous improvement and best practices of an Asset Life cycle Management program.

REQUIREMENTS:

Specific initiatives include:

  • Oversight and control of all IT resources (Laptops, desktops & Mobiles) throughout the asset’s lifecycle from purchase to final disposition
  • Modern device management strategy from evaluation, design, architecture to implementation and support (Intune).
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of PCs and MAC devices.
  • Manage the ALM budget and ensure that procurement activities are aligned with financial goals.
  • Transfer in-house device management services to vendor managed DaaS offerings.
  • Lead Asset recovery & Refresh programs.
  • Migrate to JAMF & Airwatch on-prem to cloud.
  • Decide virtual desktop strategy (AWS/WVD) and reduce yearly spending
  • Evaluation of new products and technologies.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead 4 different teams that responsible for asset life cycle management.
  • Design and develop computing solutions that deliver high quality experience for end users
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of PCs and MAC devices
  • Participate in budget planning, being able to articulate Capex and OpEx spends annually.
  •  Baseline device inventory and optimize inventory management
  • Partnering with the teams on strategic technology initiatives and projects to forecast costs, equipment, and resources.
  • Program management and delivery of endpoint deployment and refresh programs
  • Equipment procurement, Vendor management and negotiating skills
  • Establish a process for leveraging device telemetry data to proactively remediate issues that impact device health
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to ALM team, Client services, and NBCUniversal endpoint systems for over 35,000 users and over 50,000 Laptops & MAC & Mobile devices
  • Responsible for control and coordination of the release management process for the desktop
  • Conducting regular audits of hardware and software to identify areas for improvement and to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies: Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships: Maintain positive relationships with key technology vendors to ensure the organization receives competitive pricing, high-quality goods and services, and timely delivery.
  • Lead contract negotiations with technology vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and service-level agreements.

Qualifications

  • Batchelor’s degree in computer-related field preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in IT, specifically in an enterprise environment and at least 3 years management experience
  • Project management skills and the ability.
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Experience with Modern device management like Intune, JAMF, AirWatch,
  • Experience with SCCM & CMG
  • Experience with Cannon Printers
  • Experience with virtual desktops technologies
  • Skilled practitioner in strategies for creating a competitive environment, including experience leading request for proposal (RFP)
