YOU
The Assistant Controller supports accounting and accounts payable functions for the West Chicago, IL and Gallatin, TN facilities, performing monthly closing activities, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, internal financial reporting, and financial analysis.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Accurate and timely completion of month end close activities including but not limited to journal entry preparation, accruals and amortizations, account reconciliation, variance analysis and financial reporting. (50%)
Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation. Ensure validity and accuracy of systems through analysis. Completion of audit requirements and coordination with internal and external audit for SOX compliance. Partnering with audit and inventory control to perform and reconcile physical inventory counts (20%)
Ad-hoc analysis and project support as needed to support operations leadership. (15%)
Manage and lead accounts payable function, establishing shared coverage for facilities. (10%)
Ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement to achieve greater efficiency and accuracy in the level and timeliness of reporting. (5%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- 5 years minimum accounting experience required.
- 2 years Cost Accounting Experience in a Manufacturing Environment preferred.
- 2+ years managerial Experience preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively present information and professional opinions in verbal or written format in a clear, concise, organized and convincing manner for the intended audience
- Computer / Software Skills: Ability to work in a Microsoft software environment, experience in advanced Microsoft Excel, SAP experience is required.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify the information needed to solve a problem effectively, and the ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
- Reporting: Knowledge of internal/external reporting issues and strong understanding of GAAP

This position requires domestic travel up to 15% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is located in West Chicago, IL.

Relocation is not available for this position.
PAY
$89,100 - $142,600 / year
