The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a highly motivated Senior Reliability Sustainment Engineer to join our team supporting NavalX within the Office of Naval Research (ONR). This multidisciplinary program requires a technically experienced professional who can interpret complex requirements and develop innovative, practical solutions to meet demanding customer needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and ensure the delivery of high-quality technical support within a cost-constrained environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Reliability Sustainment Engineer, you will develop and implement strategies to enhance the reliability and maintainability of systems throughout their lifecycle. Key duties include:
- Analyzing performance and failure data to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
- Developing and executing preventive maintenance strategies and reliability improvement plans.
- Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and recommending corrective actions.
- Creating and maintaining reliability models and forecasts for new and legacy systems.
- Collaborating with design, manufacturing, and sustainment teams to integrate reliability best practices.
- Leading reliability-focused training for engineering and maintenance personnel.
- Tracking and reporting key reliability metrics and performance indicators (KPIs).
- Evaluating and adopting new technologies and methods to improve system reliability.
- Supporting warranty resolution and customer service inquiries related to reliability.
- Staying abreast of industry trends, standards, and innovations in reliability engineering.
Qualifications:
Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- 20+ years of experience in reliability engineering or a related technical field
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, statistical analysis, and FMEA/FMECA techniques
- Proficiency with reliability modeling and data analysis tools
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience managing technical projects and leading small engineering teams
- Demonstrated technical writing skills
Desired :
- Master’s degree in Engineering
- Certification in Reliability Engineering (e.g., ASQ CRE)
- Direct experience supporting U.S. Navy systems or Department of Defense (DoD) programs
- Active DoD Secret clearance (or the ability to obtain)
