JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibilities of the cancer center infusion pharmacist include clinical review of medication orders, chemotherapy checking and compounding, providing drug information support to the clinic and infusion areas, and assisting with optimization and build of the electronic medical record. The pharmacist will also provide drug information and clinical support for all ambulatory infusion clinics. The infusion pharmacists work closely with technical staff, nurses, mid-level providers, and physicians to meet the operational, clinical, and research needs of the infusion clinic and the comprehensive cancer center. This position will provide coverage for multiple clinic locations, as well as have the opportunity to receive cross-training for inpatient hem/onc services as needed.

How You’ll Impact Patient care:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Process medication orders and prescriptions from physicians and nurses.
- Supervise technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing, optimizing staff utilization.
- Deliver pharmaceutical care for optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts through teamwork.
- Continuously update and document skills and knowledge.
- Maintain documentation for compliance with standards and regulations.
- Set personal goals to support departmental objectives.
- Provide age-appropriate care following guidelines.
- Foster a cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
What You Will Need:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is required.
- Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required.
Nice To Have (Not Required):
- Completion of an Oncology Residency program or Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years oncology experience is preferred.
- Experience in hematology oncology preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
