LocationYou must be able to conduct all work within the United states. You are allowed to work remotely with the possibility to work on-site event management in the DC Metro Area required.
What will you do?As a Sr. Community Manager & Organizer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing community organization strategies in partnership with the government to ensure vibrant and engaged communities. You will leverage your expertise to build relationships with government agencies and stakeholders, provide guidance, brainstorm innovative solutions, create valuable content, and host events. Using various channels and tools such as websites, mailing lists, newsletters, and social media, you will effectively reach and engage current and potential community members. Monitoring community performance through analytics and data analysis will enable you to make informed recommendations and drive continuous improvement. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to roll out new solutions and enhance existing ones, while adhering to policies for federal websites and digital services.

Responsibilities
- Monitor community communications, identifying opportunities, challenges, and trends.
- Create a positive experience for community members by developing and maintaining a seamless process for joining and leaving communities of practice using customer relationship management tools like Zendesk.
- Coordinate with an internal event team to organize community events.
- Facilitate and support a large volume of monthly digital events and periodic in-person events.
- Train and empower community leads, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among them.
- Identify and document roles and responsibilities for community leads.
- Utilize data from analytics tools and community management tools to gather insights and propose innovative solutions.
- Take proactive measures to enhance diversity and inclusion within communities, implementing campaigns to reach underrepresented groups and establishing equitable recruitment processes.
- Develop inclusive and safe community guidelines that promote a respectful environment.
- Drive modernization efforts for websites, communication tools, and other channels to increase engagement among community leads and members.
- Identify and implement strategies to encourage increased contributions from community members, leveraging audience segmentation and targeted messaging.
Qualifications
- Ability to undergo a background investigation by the U.S. Government and meet eligibility requirements for suitability.
- Demonstrated experience in community organization and strategy development, preferably in collaboration with government entities.
- Strong knowledge and experience in community management best practices.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and constituents.
- Familiarity with utilizing websites, mailing lists, newsletters, social media, and other channels and tools to engage communities effectively.
- Proficiency in analyzing community analytics and utilizing data to drive recommendations and decision-making.
- Experience in supporting communities throughout their lifecycle and at different maturity stages.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management systems, collaboration tools, and analytics platforms.
- Understanding of federal website policies and digital service requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle pressure and make good decisions quickly.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet demands and be well organized and proactive.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment with quick turnaround times.
- 7–10 years of relevant professional experience.
