AVP – Executive Risks - Financial Institutions

Job Summary
Seeking a self-starter, highly motivated, qualified professional with a strong work ethic that will be responsible for working with the Executive Risks team on executing the Execuitve Risks, Financial Institutions single risk strategy for SCOR Specialty Insurance. This is a recent start-up business unit, therefore candidates should possess a broad skillset to contribute and lead in a variety of disciplines including underwriting, relationship management, and policy forms. Must be team player and have effective communication and project management skills to work with all the internal stakeholders (claims, actuarial, legal, Underwriting Management, Group Risk Management and Senior Management) that have a vested interest in this highly visible initiative.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Successfully execute the single risk Financial Institutions strategy.
- Achieve and exceed the financial targets (profitability, expense, premium) for this line of business while also making a positive contribution to the SCOR Specialty Insurance Americas results.
- Assist the Executive Risks team in growing and refining the underwriting methodology for Financial Institutions product lines including D&O, E&O, EPL, Fiduciary, and Bond.
- Contribute to long-term growth strategy. including the development of new policy forms.
- Operate within delegated authority levels on assignments of higher technical complexity and coordination.
- Develop relationships with distribution partners throughout the Americas and proactively work with them to seek new business opportunities on targeted companies.
- Collaborate with other SCOR Specialty underwriters in the Americas to provide comprehensive “all lines” whole account solutions where possible.
- Proactively manage your accounts and make any necessary adjustments in the industry mix, attachment points and limits to ensure a long term, profitable book of business.
- Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition.
- Keeps abreast of legal, regulatory and industry trends that may impact this line of business.
Required experience & competencies
- 5 to 10 years of successful underwriting of Financial Institutions lines of business including D&O, E&O, EPL, Fiduciary, and Bond.
- Preferred experience focused on Financial Institutions.
- Strong relationship with distribution partners throughout the USA.
- Accountable, team-oriented, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills (oral & written), self-starter.
- Excellent time management skills with a strong ethics.
- As the business grows, willingness to develop the competency skills needed to become a team leader.
- Insurance Industry designations (RPLU, etc.) desired but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree from a reputable University.
- MBA is desired but not required.

Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $180,000 - $210,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement saving plan, paid holidays and paid time off.”
