The Project Engineer will be directly responsible for the management and leadership of site start up plans, manage capital projects, product and process qualifications and other duties as assigned. This position will prevent losses due to change related to, start-up of production systems, design of new technologies and operational improvements. They will also be the Start-Up Manager and will be responsible for Technology Training and Transfe(TT&T). The Project Engineer is responsible for using Early Equipment Management tools and processes to drive efficiency in project management, project startups and product qualifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides process engineering support and project engineering guidance to filling, processing, and/or support departments.
- Leads a team of Technicians to maintain and create standard documentation for the various operations in the plant ensuring uniformity across departments and be current on industry standards and latest developments.
- Responsible for the vertical start-up of capital, commercial, CCI and business critical projects- with a special focus on Equipment Startup and Product Qualifications
- Develops, implements, and manages the Start Up Management plan for assigned projects using the standard Early Equipment Management (EEM) tools and methodologies, Autonomous Management (AM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) standards and operational best practices during projects.
- Manages capital projects under the direction of the Plant Manager
- Works with other functions including Operations, Project Engineering, Packaging Development, Procurement, Commercialization, CCI Program Management and Supply Chain to deliver on project commitments while addressing multifunctional losses during the projects.
- Anticipates potential losses and quickly adapt to operational, equipment, staffing, material problems and / or business changes and quickly align teams and organizations to new realities.
- Ensures that root cause analyses are completed for data and specification losses that impact Service, Quality, Operations and Scheduling
- Develops and leads loss elimination projects to deliver savings back to the business.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Business-Related discipline.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing facility or business environment, with process engineering, team management or analyst experience and a proven record of target focused delivery in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully initiate and complete business changes resulting from process/business improvements, commercial, scale up or capital projects.
- Knowledge of best practices of High-Performance Organizations (HPO), with the ability to build and sustain relationships at all levels and to collaboratively work in and promote HPO.
- Understands the Tools and Techniques used in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and demonstrated ability to successfully use the EEM tool set and methodologies.
- Lead, facilitate, and work in project teams involving multi functions, and cost saving optimization to include, but not limited to – Operations, Project Engineering, Packaging Development, Procurement, Commercialization, CCI Program Management and Supply Chain.
- Develops support from Engineering, Maintenance and Operations for each component of equipment or process introduced.
- Ability to provide strategic and critical planning for projects, and highly adaptable to course correct with business change.
