The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon Missile Defense products. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and we integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.
TEE products are located in engineering labs, in the field, and in production environments. Our Engineers engage in weapon system product verification, qualification, test data analysis, and production test solution development. TEE has job responsibilities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and sustainment.
This position is 100% ONSITE in Tucson, AZ
What You Will Do
Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) is looking for Senior Principal Mechanical Engineers to be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining complex test environment systems for all Raytheon effector products.
Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments
Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions
Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced professionals and support employees
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum ten (10) years of technical/engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support
Minimum five (5) years of experience managing the technical data package lifecycle utilizing CAD solid modeling tools
Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) experience
Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM) and Proposal Development
Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) or functional leader in a matrixed organization
US Citizen - Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Qualifications We Value
Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging
Experience with the first four gates within Integrated Product Development System (IPDS)
Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development
Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)
Systems engineering experience
Experience with basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching less experienced professionals, and process execution
