JOB PURPOSE:

Provides support to the Associate Vice Presidents (AVP-ORRC) Regulatory Research Compliance and Designated Institutional Official by analyzing regulatory requirements applicable to the University and committees responsible for sponsored programs. Work with the AVP-ORRC and Director to coordinate professional and administrative services, including personnel actions.  

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:

A variety of administrative, clerical, and temporary personnel are reporting to this position.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Internal contacts include chairs, faculty students, and staff involved in sponsored research. External contacts include regulatory agencies, auditors, inspectors, representatives working with other universities and colleges, service personnel, vendors, the public, and other organizations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Identifies administrative needs and develops appropriate solutions and recommendations. Works with the Director to review and analyze budget reports and prepares recommendations to the AVP-ORRC. Assists the Director in developing/preparing and tracking ORRC expenditures, especially non-personnel.

Work with the Director on yearly HAAP (Institutional Research and Assessment), data gathering, analysis and reporting, computerization needs, and special management studies.

Coordinates and/or conceives and develops templates for publications and other visual materials, including newsletters, brochures, and flyers.

Bear primary responsibility for Export Control in research, support Research Integrity/Misconduct, and work with the Director of ORRC and AVP-ORRC to coordinate administratively and support the ORRC and the institutional compliance committees and activities, including the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety (IBC), Conflict of Interest (COI), Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). The SCA is the lead person for COI, MTA, Export Control, and Research Integrity. While fulfilling the Research Integrity responsibilities, the Senior Compliance Administrator will work collaboratively with the applicable Committee, the ORRC Director, the AVP-RRC, and the Office of General Counsel (OGC).  

Work with the Director to promptly renew all ORRC Assurance, ensure meeting minutes are timely, factual, and compliant, and ensure applicable ORRC policy and Procedures are up-to-date. Coordinate the Responsible Conduct of Research Workshop.

Conducts research and analytical studies, preparing reports that include cost/benefit analyses, comparative financial data evaluations of programs, staffing, and resource utilization.

Assists the Director with recruiting institutional compliance committee members. Monitors compliance documentation and document retention for the regulatory committees.

Coordinates and directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures for institutional committees. Studies methods of improving work measurements and performance standards. Coordinates data collection and preparation
