About the Position
The Internal Asset Protection Investigator is responsible for proactively investigating and resolving employee-related theft and inventory misappropriation within the Goodwill store. This role involves conducting discreet investigations, gathering evidence, and working closely with management to enforce policies and support a culture of honesty and integrity.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Monitor and analyze sales, inventory, and employee activity for signs of theft or misconduct.
• Conduct discreet and professional investigations into employee-related theft or fraud allegations.
• Collect and document evidence in accordance with company policies and legal procedures.
• Monitor store activity through CCTV and in-store observations to detect suspicious behavior.
• Collaborate with management, Human Resources, and security teams to address theft issues effectively.
• Interview employees and witnesses when appropriate, maintaining confidentiality throughout the process.
• Develop and recommend preventive measures to reduce employee theft and improve internal controls.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports and present findings to management.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and legal requirements during investigations.
• Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and ethical behavior among staff.

Required Experience
• Previous experience in loss prevention, internal investigations, or related security roles.
• Familiarity with retail inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems to track sales, returns, and inventory discrepancies.
• Strong analytical, interviewing, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and written report skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
• Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and associated risks.
• Familiarity with legal and procedural aspects of workplace investigations.
