Job overview:
Working under the guidance of the Manager, Creative Services – Labs, the Software Developer – Creative Services will support the development and maintenance of software applications, real-time audio and speech-to-text pipelines, AI-assisted workflows, and intelligent systems that integrate directly into live broadcast environments. Ross Video’s Creative Services Labs is a newly established team operating at the intersection of Live Production and Rapid Innovation. The lab’s mission is to prototype, test, and deliver next-generation tools that enhance storytelling through cutting-edge technology.

What the job is all about:
As a Software Developer at Ross Video, you will play a key role in developing new technologies that enhance our clients’ broadcast and stadium productions. Leveraging your full-stack expertise, you will collaborate with experienced production specialists to deliver high-impact applications and solutions.
Application Development:
• Participate in the full life cycle of software development (requirements gathering, designing, building, testing and maintenance)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and automated delivery of software components
• Collaborate with live-production specialists to bring their application visions to life
• Write clean, concise, and efficient code across the entire stack
• Create and maintain operational documentation and deployment guidelines to support ongoing scalability and reliability
• Design and implement automated tests
• Identify and resolve bugs quickly
• Contribute to the functionality and performance of products that are seen by millions of viewers across the globe
Media and Data Integration:
• Contribute to the development and optimization of media pipelines using tools such as FFmpeg and GStreamer for real-time audio and video processing
• Integrate WebRTC frameworks such as LiveKit for low-latency communication and remote production workflows
• Participate in the exploration and implementation of AI agent and speech-to-text technologies to enable intelligent automation in live environments
• Develop integrations with external data sources for use in real-time graphics and production systems via RESTful APIs, websockets, and related interfaces
Who you are:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Video Production or equivalent
• 2+ years using front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) including a modern framework (React preferred)
• 2+ years using Node.js for backend development
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Independent learner with strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working on high-visibility, time-sensitive projects
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
• Collaborative and team-oriented
• Organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Adheres to Ross Video’s Code of Ethics and Culture Statements
Bonus points if you have the following:
• Experience with multimedia or live production environments (broadcast, streaming, or graphics systems)
• Experience with real-time media frameworks such as FFmpeg, GStreamer, or WebRTC (LiveKit experience is an asset)
• Knowledge of AI, speech-to-text technologies, and SQL D
