Job Description:

The RCM Coding Coordinator will be responsible for addressing coding department administrative tasks and to support ongoing & special projects. This role will report to the RCM Coding Director and will track and analyze coding production, benchmarks, and KPIs for the coding department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support with ongoing and special coding department projects.
  • Facilitate access requests for the coding team.
  • Provide support to the coding department by assisting with administrative tasks (e.g., newsletters/department communications).
  • Assist with developing and maintaining department policies and procedures.
  • Conduct payer policy research.
  • Stay informed on HCC, Coding and Billing guidelines on a national scale and disseminate information to the team.
  • Collaborate with the Coding CoE leadership team on trends and issues identified in documentation, production coding or other areas.
  • Maintain open communication with other RCM managers and Clinical staff.
  • Capture and review established KPI metrics and provide metric outliers to leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned to drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

  • Proficient in the use of end-user computer applications regarding productivity (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, payer sites), database and patient scheduling and other medical information systems.

Qualifications: 

  • CPC-A, CPC, CCS-P or other coding certification required.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance payer guidelines and medical policies.
  • Extensive knowledge of billing guidelines.
  • Knowledge of ICD10, CPT and HCPCS codes required.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a community oncology setting preferred.
  • 4+ years of RCM healthcare experience required including coding and/or billing required.
