Wilton Manufacturing Engineering Assembly and Test has Summer Internship Position opening for undergraduate students of Mechanical, Electrical, & Industrial/Manufacturing  Engineering studies. 

Role and responsibilities

The main responsibility of the intern is to assist Production Engineers in the development of the manufacturing process for new product. The following responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Updating CAD/NX Models for ongoing facility renovation projects.
  • Helping with SPC (Statistical Process Control) implementation for particle cleanliness data.
  • Contamination Control projects/monitoring.
  • Assembly Tooling setup and qualification.
  • Procedures illustration creation in Siemens Teamcenter/NX.
  • Drafting technical work instructions and engineering test plans and assisting in troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical problems.

The intern will be working with senior Production Engineer during this intern.

The candidate needs to be self-motivated and to work independently on specific tasks. Also, the candidate must work well in a dynamic environment and be a good team player. The candidate must have good communication skills.

Education and experience

  • Student attaining at least a Bachelor's of Science in a Mechanical, Electrical, & Industrial/Manufacturing.
  • High preference for candidates with a background in manufacturing.

Responsibilities: 

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus. 
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. 
  • May require travel dependent on business needs.
