This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will lead the accounts payable function for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of pricing and estimating. The Accounts Payable Sr. Manager leads the accounts payable function at Blue Origin, and will be responsible for building and managing a world class accounts payable organization. The position is responsible for all vendor payments and associated processes, including voucher matching, invoice processing, check processing, and internal controls within accounts payable. This role will have extensive interaction with other functions and senior management, and as such requires someone with excellent communication and analytical skills. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management and execution of accounts payable processes, including check disbursements, ACH payments, and vendor credit applications.
  • Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies applicable to the accounts payable function in order to ensure efficient company operations and working capital management.
  • Ensure purchase orders are matched to invoices and all invoices are accurate and appropriately approved/authorized before authorizing payments.
  • Manage vendor relationships, payments and payment terms while pursuing an efficient working capital position advantageous to Blue.
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information as it relates to accounts payable; ensure accuracy of accounts payable related items in the financial statements.
  • Provide accounting assistance to project managers, operations staff, and procurement related to accounts payable and vendor payments; respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
  • Responsible for full employee life cycle including selection, hiring, performance management, goal management, compensation, recognition, task/project management, training, and career development for the group’s members.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Prepare and recommend operating and personnel budgets for approval.
  • Monitor spending for adherence to budget, recommend variances as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience to include subject matter expertise in Accounts Payable
  • Strong understanding of corporate credit cards and experience with multiple operating sites
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in fast-paced, deadline driven environments

Desired:

  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, including systems and process creation as it relates to Accounts Payable
  • Ability to manage complex projects
  • Advanced degree


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $158,257.00 - $221,559.45
