They are currently looking for an Industrial Maintenance Associate for their manufacturing facility in Monroe, North Carolina (suburb of Charlotte, NC). Their Maintenance Technicians are part of a highly skilled team that is critical in supporting production and ensuring equipment is operational in order to consistently meet production goals and our customers' needs. 

Job Description

You will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of electrical and mechanical systems, and support equipment, including pneumatics and hydraulics within our automation, raw materials, melt or remelt operations. 

As a Maintenance Associate, you will also have a key role in identifying issues, providing corrective actions and implementing process improvements and methods that will increase our efficiencies. A successful Maintenance Associate is a problem solver, thought leader, and strives for continuous improvement.  In order to become successful, you must quickly learn their systems and equipment in order to properly address maintenance activities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout and perform all required operations to install, maintain and repair a wide variety of plant equipment and accessories.
  • Effectively troubleshoot using manuals, schematics and diagrams to diagnose and eliminate problems as they arise.
  • Use meters, gauges or other types of test equipment to facilitate quality and timely repairs.
  • Safely install, maintain, and upgrade 3 phase motor control systems, AC/DC circuits, possess understanding of basic relay logic.
  • Understand fluid power systems; troubleshoot, install, and repair power units, valve operation, cylinders, motors, pumps
  • Perform basic fabrication by cutting and welding operations
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment using standard practices and procedures.
  • Maintain work areas, tools and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all company and equipment safety guidelines and ethics rules.
  • Operate the maintenance computer to maintain records, work history and inventory of parts.
  • Use meters, gauges or other types of test equipment to facilitate quality and timely repairs.
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested
  • Operate lift, main lift and other material handling equipment.

 
This is a night shift position from 6pm - 6am and is a rotating scheduled 2/2/3 schedule.  You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, the have 3 days off.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least two years of industrial electrical or mechanical experience

or

  • An Associate Degree or two-year trade school degree in engineering, industrial/manufacturing system or related electrical/mechanical field of study

Preferred Qualifications (In addition to Basic Qualifications)

  • Industrial Maintenance Certification
  • At least five years of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience

Skills

  • Strong aptitude with a variety of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment including motor controls/drives/pressure switches, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps/conveyors/gearboxes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Basic PC/Software skills; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
