A Day in the Life

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of accounting and control for Diabetes International? The Diabetes business is becoming an independent, publicly traded company, with a clear focus on innovation, operational excellence, and growth in diabetes care. As the Accounting & Control Improvement Lead, you will drive the operationalization and optimization of accounting and control processes, ensuring our readiness for Day 1 (Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the business) and leading the deployment of SAP S/4HANA for financial processes for Day 2 (Transition Service Agreement (TSA) exit with Medtronic). You will report to global finance leadership and work closely with regional controllership, IT, and other value streams, and functions. Occasional travel may be required to support business needs and foster collaboration across geographies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, to optimize end-to-end (E2E) processes
  • Lead the design and implementation of accounting and control processes within SAP S/4HANA for Day 2 (TSA exit)
  • Oversee the execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for accounting and control processes
  • Implement a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework to monitor and optimize process performance
  • Shape and standardize the statutory reporting process, ensuring compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and local regulations
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting & control team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or equivalent certification preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in finance operations, process/system improvement, or related roles, ideally within a multinational organization
  • Proven experience leading large-scale system implementation projects, including SAP S/4HANA
  • Expertise in designing and optimizing accounting and control processes for international shared services environments
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience managing culturally diverse teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives is a plus. Familiarity with statutory reporting processes, value stream design, and KPI management will help you excel in this role.
