Associate Director, Marketing and Communications

Wasserman, a global leader in sports, music, entertainment and culture, is looking for an Associate Director, Marketing & Communications to support business development growth and agency comms. This person will primarily support Wasserman’s brands and properties marketing business, which works with iconic brands and rights holders on all aspects of marketing - strategy, partnerships, content, media, revenue opportunities and more. This role may also support marketing and communications for the various brands that fall within Wasserman, including but not limited to Wasserman Experience, Wasserman Next Gen, Laundry Service and Cycle.
This role will have exposure across Wasserman’s full, global business, interacting with several stakeholders across departments, and will be responsible for all aspects of marketing that are relevant to business development. This is an excellent learning opportunity for someone looking to get into or expand a career in agency new business.
This role will be NYC (preferred) but in collaboration with our London office.
Responsibilities
The person in this role will be dedicated to managing and overseeing business development initiatives, which may include responsibilities such as:
- Key agency award submissions (crafting narrative, project management of entry process, gathering assets and getting approvals from stakeholders)
- Managing/planning for events and conferences relevant to business development
- Oversee the creation and management of updates to marketing and communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organization's brand, including website copy, sales materials, agency B2B directories and more
- Manage relationships and communications with agency pitch consultants
Your day-to-day work includes strategic planning for how to amplify Wasserman’s work and brand message, writing awards submissions, facilitating communication across teams and tracking progress on multiple agency marketing initiatives and projects. The ideal candidate is someone who works hard and learns fast, works well with others and knows how to weave together a story.
Requirements
- Ability to develop and implement marketing and communications campaigns and strategies and monitor their success
- 4-7 years of experience working in marketing/communications role, ideally within a marketing agency
- Strong written communication skills – writing is a critical element of the role
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines and independently keep multiple initiatives on track
- Commitment to excellence — proactively anticipating issues, communicating roles and responsibilities diplomatically to senior stakeholders and keeping teams on a project timeline
Note: This role is not responsible for contributing directly to business development pitches, managing client relationships directly or maintaining relationships with trade press.
- Base salary range: $80,000 - $115,000 plus bonus potential. Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each hire.
