Based in: St. Petersburg, FL

Work Type: Hybrid - would best suit someone commutable to St Pete who can come an spend some time with the team, especially during the few 3 months.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Analyst will be responsible for managing and analyzing maritime spatial data using Geographic Information Systems technology. This role involves creating detailed maps, integrating data from various remote sensing sources, and providing insights to support decision-making processes across various departments. The ideal candidate will have experience within the DoD or DHS arena and will have excellent documentation, communication, and collaborative skills. Ideal candidate is expected to perform under minimal supervision or direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collects and analyze different remote sensing data types (i.e. RF, SAR, IR, EO) for use in Pole Star products.
  • Utilize Automated Information Systems (AIS) and alternate vessel position data sources.
  • Familiarity with GNSS Spoofing tactics
  • Create and present information to prospective clients and internal executives (i.e. create presentations, videos, white papers, etc.)
  • Strong background experience with ESRI products to include ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online

Data Analysis and Management

  • Collect,manage,andmaintainfilegeodatabases.
  • Perform spatial analysis and create detailed maps and visualizations.
  • Perform Forensic Temporal Analysis within Maritime Domain
  • Familiarity with OpenSource Intelligence(OSINT)collection to further enrich datasets.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Familiarity with python and SQL is desirable.
  • Foundational understanding of APIs and able to utilize APIs for data collection.

Project Support

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project requirements.
  • Provide GIS technical support and training to team members.
  • Develop and implement GIS strategies to optimize project outcomes.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on GIS analysis results.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of GIS processes and data sources.

Innovation and Improvement

  • Stay updated with the latest GIS industry technologies and trends within the Maritime Domain
  • Recommend improvements to GIS processes and tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with as GIS Analyst
  • Demonstrable skills with GIS software, database administration, and Adobe Suite
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative and creative personality, able to contribute to team-based projects
  • Ability to speak and present effectively with stakeholders

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS Analysis, Environmental Science, Geography or related field or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position

DESIRED SKILLS (Not Required):

  • Experience working with DHS or DoD
  • DoD Security Clearance

TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Ability for up to 10% travel both domestic and international.

WORK SCHEDULE NOTE: While this position is scheduled for a traditional Monday – Friday work week, our systems run 24/7/365 and as such, you may be expected to perform out of hours, on-call support on an as needed basis. This may include weekends and/or holidays and is worked on a rotation system with other team members. Additional compensation may be available for working on-call, standby or holiday hours.
