Kleinfelder's Irving, TX office is seeking a Technician IV to join our growing team.

 

We're looking for experienced special inspectors with 5 years of specific experience in reinforced concrete and geotechnical materials testing to join our team supporting owners on some of the largest projects in the Dallas Metro Area.  This position is actively engaged on construction sites and in-office, performing special inspections and testing of construction materials in the field, in order to verify conformance to the applicable codes, project plans and specifications.  This role also includes project management support, client coordination, staff supervision and scheduling. This role offers a dynamic work environment, the opportunity to work on multiple high-profile jobs and gain a wealth valuable of experience.

 

We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in in joining a dynamic fast paced team with a client and project forward focus while advancing their career in the field of construction special inspections and materials testing.

 

Required Certifications include: 

  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I
  • Nuclear Gauge / Troxler
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

Preferred Certifications:

Ideal candidate has a couple of the preferred certifications and a willingness to pursue additional with support from supervisor and administrative staff.

  • TxDOT 1A – HMA Plant Production Specialist
  • TxDOT 1B – HMA Roadway Specialist
  • TxDOT SB101 – Materials Properties Specialist
  • TxDOT SB102 – Field Specialist
  • ICC Special Inspector Certifications (Masonry, Soils, etc.)
  • NICET Levels 1-3 (soil, asphalt, concrete)

 

The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company provided training and mentoring. This is a career opportunity to become a member of a highly successful, fast paced team with a steady and growing backlog of large signature projects in the Austin area. This role will also include: 

  • Train field staff/new hires in the field on projects.
  • Assist with safety and LPS Stewardship with field and lab staff
  • Assist with field staff interviews and recruiting
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, calibrations, field files, document control, etc.
  • Manage small projects and work towards the goal of being a qualified project manager 

 

Must be able to use a tablet and a general knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Must be willing to travel throughout Texas.

 

Education: Certifications and experience related to Special Inspection and Materials Testing or 4-year degree in Engineering, geology or environmental science or graduation date within one year of employment.
