The Global Workplace Experience team is responsible for delivery of a workplace environment for employees and visitors that is customer focused, enables productivity, reflects the BlackRock culture, and operates with efficiency. The team works with stakeholders, internal partners, and vendors to ensure consistent service delivery and provide a well-managed workplace that meets business needs. With in Workplace Experience, the Global Planning, Design & Construction (PD&C) team is responsible for the planning and execution of capital projects, which includes requests for space alterations, renovation projects and fit out of new office locations. Additionally, PD&C owns and implements global space and design standards for BlackRock offices.

Your Role and Impact

The Americas Design & Construction Regional Lead is responsible for the overall delivery of the program of projects in the region. This position provides leadership, management, and developmental support to various stakeholders including a team of facilities management staff, hired contractors and service providers to ensure a consistent approach to delivering best value, quality projects.

The position reports into the Global Head of Planning, Design and Construction and will work closely with the other functional leads within Workplace Experience, Real Estate, Enterprise Services, Digital Workplace and Technology Infrastructure. The position will be responsible for the management of the third-party regional program manager. You will be an ambassador and subject matter expert on the global space and design standards, leading to bring consistency and functionality to support BlackRock’s flexible workplace.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice in the planning and performance of projects in region related to cost, scope, timing, quality, performance, and procurement strategy.

  • Develop and manage the annual Capital budget for the Americas region.

  • Provide regular review of management process to ensure compliance with corporate governance and alignment with global practices (lessons learned peer review, knowledge sharing).

  • Assist in the development of global process improvements in the management risk, issues, and opportunities.

  • Identify potential to improve performance within the region and seek global opportunities.

  • Ensure an effective communications plan between stakeholders and senior management.

  • Work closely with the Project Controls Group to provide executive reporting on overall performance of program (financial, risks, metrics, health, and quality).

  • Manage resources to ensure the program is appropriately resourced.

  • Establish key performance indicators and monitors service contracts for compliance and financial performance.

  • Actively participate in the development of Workplace Experience brand across the Americas as a member of the regional management team.

  • Support projects remotely and travel as required to oversee project execution across region. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, facilities management, business administration or related field from an accredited college. graduate degree is desirable

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive advancement in project management and real estate services with supervisory experience

  • Experience providing program management services to include commercial management, change control, quality control, performance management, cost management, Resource Planning, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications, Risk Management, document management and schedule and delivery optimization

  • Preferred experience with all aspects of a real estate transaction, including financial analysis, brokerage agreements, requests for proposals, letters of intent, leases, and related amendments

  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with ability
