We are actively recruiting for internships and externships for Samsung Electronics America public affairs, which supports various business priorities. This position is located in our Washington, DC office.

At Samsung Electronics America, we provide our interns with real-world hands-on knowledge alongside application. Experience will transcend beyond classrooms, and you will see how processes and business strategies come into life.

Our commitment to social betterment is the guiding force behind our Public/Government Affairs team which focuses on opportunities to engage and support government customers, policy makers and technology leaders. Our sustainability and global and U.S. government relations teams ensure that everything we do moves the world forward.


Responsibilities

  • Support government affairs/relations activities including research, public policy projects, and communications

  • Work with the strategic communications team to pitch media, identify opportunities for storytelling

  • Identify thought-leadership, panel, and speaking engagement opportunities for Samsung leadership

  • Develop communications and marketing materials to support lines of business

  • Work with the events team to plan and execute events within the Samsung DC event space

  • Conduct research on organizations, issues, trends, case studies, federal legislative and political agendas, public policy issues, and regional events

  • Assist staff with legislative, regulatory, and consumer group issues, attend legislative hearings, and provide hearing coverage with follow-up report writing

  • Execute operational tasks through collaboration with internal cross-functional teams and stakeholders, as well as external partners

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergrad (Rising Senior) - Political Science, International Studies, Communications, Law, History, Economics.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop and/ or other common marketing-related applications will be an advantage

  • Must be able to work throughout the summer: 6/3/2024-8/9/2024

  • Required Reporting Location: 700 Pennsylvania Ave, Suite 600, Washington D.C.

  • Good planning skills and well-organized

  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills

  • Demonstrated experience building, sustaining and leveraging relationships

  • Inclusive mind-set and behaviors across all levels of organization

  • Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and act decisively

  • Ability to think strategically and influence teammates on multiple, cross-functional teams
