This position offers an opportunity to be on the forefront of applied AI for a growing technology company with high ambition. <br/></p><p dir="ltr">💻 AS A STAFF ENGINEER AI YOU WILL</p><ul> <li>Lead development of new AI-powered product experiences, both as a hands-on engineer and through mentoring others</li> <li>Partner with engineering managers, product managers, designers and data scientists to design the company’s AI strategy and build new products</li> <li>Develop novel evaluation methods for assessing the quality of potential AI applications to ensure safety and clinical quality</li> <li>Lead a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team, encouraging innovation, staying ahead of industry trends and technologies, and implementing best practices and process improvements</li> <li>Communicate with stakeholders across the company, including executive leadership</li> </ul><p>⚙️YOU WILL BE THE PERFECT FIT IF:</p><ul> <li>7+ years of experience as a hands-on software engineer</li> <li>You have experience in building LLM-powered applications. You have likely implemented or used RAGs, vector databases, and have experimented with cutting edge models for text, images, audio and video. You know how to evaluate the quality of model output and build metrics to measure performance</li> <li>You take a product-focused approach, focusing always on the impact to the end user and business, not just the technology</li> <li>You have experience working in teams that take products from 0-&gt;1, from early ideas to solid consumer-facing experiences</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders</li> <li>Strong knowledge of the software technologies and processes best practices commonly used in web and app development in a cloud and serverless environment</li> <li>Comfortable operating with ambiguous problem areas with a high degree of autonomy</li> <li>Strong soft skills, such as emotional intelligence, ability to delegate and time management</li> <li>Fluent in English</li> </ul><p dir="ltr">Note: While these qualifications are desirable, we understand that no candidate will perfectly fulfill every criteria listed above.
