Description
The Director of Football Performance is responsible for executing the year-round strength and conditioning program for the Lafayette College football program. This position has a dual reporting line to the Assistant Athletic Director for Peak Performance and the Head Football Coach.
Primary Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of football peak performance with direction from the Head Football Coach.

Teach, demonstrate, and supervise proper techniques for strength, speed, conditioning, and flexibility exercises within the program.

Maintain a safe and positive training environment.

Work closely with medical and athletic training staff to integrate injured athletes safely and effectively into the performance program and assist in the coordinated efforts to maximize participation while minimizing risk and injury.

Maintain knowledge of current trends, practices and techniques related to strength and conditioning programming.

Demonstrate effectiveness in recruiting, training, coaching, evaluating, and supervising student athletes to attain their maximum level of academic and athletic performance.

Supervision of weight room facilities including ensuring proper maintenance of equipment and monitoring compliance of safety procedures.

Participate in all football-related activities (practice, meetings, travel, etc.).

Regularly interface with administrative staff, coaches, and sports medicine team.

Attend campus/departement events/meetings in support of the Lafayette College community and represent the College with integrity and professionalism.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's Degree or higher plus 4 years of related collegiate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Current certification as a professional strength coach with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association or National Strength and Conditioning Association required.

Upon position acceptance, successful completion of PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to cultivate professional relationships with students-athletes and staff and be passionate about the student-athlete experience. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Computer/Technological skills, able to work with a diverse group of people with various backgrounds, education levels, and cultural differences. Must be able to work nights and weekends. Must be able to operate within and abide by Lafayette College, Patriot League, and NCAA rules and regulations.
