Position Summary:
The Director, Corporate Communications is responsible for driving adoption of business transformation, protecting and enhancing the company’s reputation, and enabling business results. This individual will lead enterprise communications for Ventura Foods’ business transformation initiative and serve as a strategic communications business partner to Commercial, Operations, and IT. This leader will work directly with the C suite and senior functional leadership to translate complex work into simple, compelling, audience-relevant communications that build alignment, accelerate readiness, and sustain momentum. The Director of Communications serves as the operational linchpin within the Communications function, ensuring the team operates with speed, a strong service mindset, and consistently high quality. The Director of Corporate Communications partners closely with the Communications Manager, and CSR Sr. Manager to align tone, standards, and execution so all communications are clear, cohesive, and consistent regardless of function, channel, or audience.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and govern the enterprise communications strategy for the company’s multi‑year business transformation program, owning messaging architecture, audience segmentation, channel strategy, and communications governance to ensure clarity, consistency, and sustained engagement across the organization. Translate complex transformation work into a unified, enterprise narrative that drives alignment, readiness, and adoption across all phases of change.
- Act as the communications business partner for Commercial, Operations, and IT, advising leaders on messaging, change impact, and stakeholder readiness. Ensure Commercial and Operations narratives remain consistent with enterprise strategy and ESG commitments—connecting transformation outcomes to value creation, trust, and transparency. Support proactive and reactive communications tied to customer-facing initiatives, ensuring message discipline and consistent positioning.
- Own the enterprise internal communications channel strategy, editorial planning, and digital communications transformation, including the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of modern, scalable communication platforms, tools, and governance. Ensure communications are delivered through the right channels, with clear purpose and cadence, leveraging digital capabilities to improve reach, engagement, consistency, and adoption across diverse audiences while simplifying how employees access and experience information.
- Lead issues management and urgent communications across the enterprise, including product recalls, supply disruptions, customer complaints, and other rapidly evolving situations, in close partnership with Operations, Commercial, Quality, Legal, and Customer teams. Provide clear, timely, and aligned internal guidance and messaging to ensure leaders and frontline teams are equipped to respond effectively, support customers, protect trust, and maintain disciplined, consistent positioning during high‑pressure situations.

Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, internal communications, change communications, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience leading communications for enterprise‑wide business transformation initiatives, including multi‑year or multi‑phase programs.
- Experience serving as a strategic communications business partner to senior leaders across Commercial, Operations, IT, or similarly complex functions.
- Proven experience advising C‑suite and senior functional leadership on messaging, sequencing, and stakeholder impact.
- Direct experience managing issues management and urgent communications, including recalls, operational disruptions, customer‑impacting events, or other high‑pressure situations.
- Ability to travel 5%.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Communications, Business Administration (MBA), Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a food manufacturing, CPG, industrial, or regulated environment with customer‑facing operational complexity.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Prior people leadership experience, including coaching and enabling managers or senior contributors.
