Position Details:

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The newly developing Social Work program within the College of Nursing at Washington State University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, Career-Track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor faculty position in Richland, Washington on our Tri-Cities campus.

This position will have a primary focus on teaching and course content development that aligns with accreditation requirements of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin Fall 2025.

Career Track Teaching Faculty whose primary responsibility is teaching or student advising and with little or no additional expectations in research, scholarship, creative activity, leadership, or academic service.  Faculty with a teaching appointment will often have large teaching commitments according to their assignment and contract.  In some colleges, teaching may involve teaching in a clinical setting. All career track appointments should align with current Washington Administrative Code Regulations (WAC 250-61-100). Suitable Qualifications are an appropriate earned degree and experience related to the position.

This position will be based on our Tri-Cities campus with the expectation that the candidate will be on campus.

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - All Teaching Ranks  

  • Hold an MSW from a CSWE-accredited institution  

  • A minimum of two (2) years of full-time, post-MSW practice experience 

  • Demonstrated service experience on campus, in professional organizations, agencies or in their communities. 

  • Excellent communication abilities in written and verbal forms

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Teaching Associate Professor 

  • Currently serving in the rank of an Associate Professor or equivalent at a post-secondary institution, or  

  • At least four (4) years of academic teaching experience as well as academic and professional service.; and at least three (3) years of clinical scholarship including refereed publications, presentation at national conferences, and/or contribution to professional guideline development 

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Teaching Full Professor:   

  • Currently serving in the rank of a Full Professor or equivalent at a post-secondary institution, or 

  • At least five (5) years of clinical scholarship, including national and/or international publications, funded clinical projects and/or research; and held leadership positions in national and/or international professional organizations 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - All Teaching Ranks:

  • Hold a PhD or DSW from an accredited institution, and an MSW from a CSW
