ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Seamstress handles all sewing and material alterations for the hotel/casino employees. Seamstress will provide tailoring and seamstress services for all new uniforms which includes measuring, marking, pinning, cutting, sewing, replacing elastic and letting seams out when need.

• Fits all new hire employees and refits all employees of the casino, ensuring that all uniforms appear professional, neat and clean.
• Records daily activities and work performed.
• Maintains stock in a neat, orderly fashion.
• Ensures equipment used is maintained in good condition.
• Acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
• Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High school diploma preferred. 
• Must be able to operate a sewing machine and have full understanding of mending and construction sewing techniques. 
• Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well-groomed appearance.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL ANDENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: 

• Must be able to sit at a sewing machine for long periods of time. 
• Must be able to lift, carry and hang uniforms from one rack to another. 
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
• Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
