Description
The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food and Nutrition is seeking a Laboratory Technician II. This position under direct supervision, performs difficult technical procedures and allied duties related to a function of a clinical, environmental, teaching or research laboratory; maintains laboratory area and equipment.
1. Prepare and label specialty formulas
2. Deliver specialty and stock formulas to patient area.
3. Prepares the preparation of standardized mixes of chemicals according to established procedures.
4. Performs duties related to diet plans, cleaning, experimental observations and records, etc.
5. Monitor and order formulas as needed to maintain par levels of formula in the formula storage room
6. Complete required quality assurance records for formula room equipment and formula delivery
7. Cleans and maintains the laboratory area and equipment.
8. Makes inventory reports and performs simple maintenance on laboratory equipment.
9. Maintains supplies and equipment in laboratory area and reports stock deficiencies.
10. Respond to telephone and voalte inquiries from patient units and healthcare providers

Schedule:
Two-week rotating schedule with rotating weekends:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Week Shifts will be 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Weekend Shifts will be 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Grade: 08

Qualifications
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Two years of related laboratory experience including one year as Laboratory Technician I or equivalent level experience, or Certification as a Certified Laboratory Assi
