Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking candidates for the position of Sr.  Principal Systems Test Engineer to support advanced technology development programs. This position is on site in Baltimore, MD.

What You’ll get to Do:

  • Develop and sustain installation and integration process documentation.
  • Lead the installation, integration, inspection, and testing of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom cryogenic system electrical equipment used to advance research efforts of superconducting microelectronic devices.
  • Communicate design modifications to cross-functional teams to execute the mission objective.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate hardware failures to support system build-out and sell-off. Support system hand-off to internal customers.
  • Communicate project status to the Test Platforms (TP) Integration and Test (I&T) Capability Lead and Primary Integrators.
  • Execute tests for individual hardware (both custom and COTS) and entire systems to validate functionality.
  • Compile data and help to define changes required in testing methodology, equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, and new testing requirements.

Basic Qualifications for Sr.  Principal Systems Test Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of experience. 4 years of additional experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers.
  • Working knowledge of RF cable networks.
  • Working knowledge of standard electrical design components: filters, couplers, splitters, mixers, amplifiers, etc.
  • Working knowledge in one of the following languages: MATLAB, Python, C, or C++.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Active US Government security clearance per customers requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in creating system requirements and writing test procedures.
  • Background in lab or field testing.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic test systems: dilution refrigeration, 4 Kelvin cryo-coolers, Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigeration (ADR), and liquid helium emersion.

Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00
