About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman
Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. Job Description
AECOM/Tishman is seeking an experienced MEP Assistant Superintendent to manage MEP interiors construction projects in Long Island, NY.
- Assists the project Superintendent and Project Manager by performing a variety of tasks in support of construction activities.
- Duties may differ depending on the specialty area.
- Must hold all applicable licenses and/or certificates as required by governmental, regional or project contractual requirements.
- Responsible for and ensures project safety compliance.
- Must be knowledgeable of applicable safety riders for area of responsibility.
- Activities may include inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications and quality standards, maintaining project documentation, interfacing with other administrative field staff.
- Relies on complete knowledge of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish goals.
- At this level, incumbents normally handle a wide range of relatively complex protocols; viewed as fully competent within limits of experience.
- Works under general supervision.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma and 4 years of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) Assistant Superintendent experience OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 years of progressive experience with basic MEP commercial construction focused on mechanical and electrical.
- Trade/vocational school training in mechanical or electricity.
- Experience working on an active construction site.
- Experience managing trade work/trade contractors.
- Basic architectural knowledge.
- Experience in critical environments is a plus.
- Experience working in environments where safety is key as the project is working with a public environment.
- Experience in working for a General Contractor with multiple trades.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Ability to interact with many tiers of management on an active construction site.
- Experience supervising contractor installations.
- Experience working in client occupied environments.

- The main work location for this position will be various sites in Long Island, NY.

- Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualification, experience and work location. The salary range for the position is $36.70/HR - $67.89/HR (non-exempt)
