Senior Technology Training Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technology Training Specialist to develop and deliver technical training and supporting documentation for a variety of commercially available and proprietary software applications. The successful candidate will provide hands-on instruction while developing clear, engaging materials that help users effectively adopt and utilize technology.
This position is well suited for a technology training professional who combines strong instructional and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical training for professional audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver instructor-led training for commercially available and proprietary software applications.
- Develop technical documentation, Quick Reference Guides, training videos, instructional materials, and interactive learning modules.
- Design and deliver training programs for individuals and groups using adult learning principles.
- Work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify training needs, address user challenges, and develop effective solutions.
- Manage training projects from planning through completion, coordinating multiple tasks, resources, stakeholders, and deadlines while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Use instructional design and training-development tools such as Camtasia, Articulate 360, Vyond, or similar applications to create effective learning materials.
- Provide training and support for Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Copilot, OneNote, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering technical training for software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop clear, professional technical documentation and instructional materials.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a technology trainer working with proprietary and/or advanced commercial software applications.
- 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation.
- Experience delivering instructor-led training in person.
- Experience applying adult learning principles when training professional audiences.
- Experience developing video-based or interactive technical training.
- Experience with Camtasia, Articulate 360, Vyond, or similar training-development tools.
- Experience managing technical training projects from initiation through completion.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Copilot, OneNote, SharePoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Work Schedule
This position follows a hybrid Monday-Friday schedule, with approximately two days per week onsite in Annapolis, Maryland, and three days per week remote.
The standard work schedule is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Time. The selected candidate must have the flexibility to occasionally adjust their schedule, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, when necessary to meet project deadlines or operational requirements.
