Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Maintenance Operational Supervisor - Davie, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Supervise all Broward Campuses operations / Physical Plant Broward. Supervises superintendents and contractors for but not limited to custodial, landscaping, HVAC, fire alarm response, generators, and elevators.

• Advises Director of Physical Plant/Broward campuses of operational materials, building deficiencies and equipment needs.

• Makes recommendations for corrective solutions.

• Maintains schedules for all maintenance work orders and set-ups.

• Performs repairs, training subordinates, and performs daily site/job inspections as required, at least 50% of the time.

• Review Work Orders assigned in FAMIS to Maintenance and delegate work to the appropriate technician.

• Create Work Orders for repairs based on building tours.

• Meets daily with maintenance staff and checks on the progress of Work Orders.

• Actively ensures work orders are completed and updated in a timely fashion.

• Meets daily and coordinates with service vendors on campus to discuss the scope of Work Orders, coordinate access to service areas, and sign off on service tickets.

• Contacting new vendors, getting quotes, approving invoices, and managing the budget. Inspects work performed by vendors.

• Performs checks to ensure the maintenance staff maintains a safe and healthy work environment by the standards and procedures set by the University.

• Performs building inspections and evaluations to identify issues and determine the scope of work.

• Execute direct maintenance, repairs as well as other support activities.

• Makes recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures; and participates in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitors work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.
