Basic Function

The Global Engineering & Turnaround (GE&T) organization has oversight responsibilities for the preparation and execution of all turnaround events globally. The Turnaround Controls Lead, North America, provides cost estimating, management, forecasting, and funding support for assigned turnarounds. They will effectively interface with senior leaders, Turnaround Managers, Project Managers, Manufacturing Sites, Accounting and Turnaround Core Team, and Management Team members to develop and adjust cost estimates and forecasts for the turnaround and related capital projects. This position also manages a team of contract Cost Analysts. The position resides in the Global Engineering & Turnaround (GE&T).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to enable the organization to achieve GoalZERO HSE performance
• Provide leadership to drive estimate development within assigned turnaround team and with related capital Project Managers
• Develops estimates, monthly forecasts (weekly during execution), and funding packages
• Drive adherence to excellence model milestones and quality of deliverables
• Effectively communicates up, down, and across the organization
• Responsible for cost estimating, management and forecasting for assigned turnaround
• Manages cost controls for turnaround and related capital projects with total cost between $50MM - $200MM depending on the size and complexity of the turnaround and related capital projects

Min. Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma, Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting or Business degree preferred

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of turnaround, construction, maintenance, or project management industry experience with at least 5 years of cost control experience in the petrochemical, chemical or refining industries

Travel

• 10% - 25% travel required in North America for Houston area assignments. Willingness to take out of area assignments for up to a year of temporary relocation

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in SAP, Primavera, and Microsoft Office products
• Ability to effectively manage turnaround project controls and financial processes
• Ability to confidently present cost and forecast reports to senior management
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and effectively manage people and multiple/changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional analytical skills to effectively evaluate system performance, troubleshooting, and mastery of continuous process improvement tools
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface with and relate complex concepts/issues at all levels
• Excellent leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to effectively transfer technical expertise to less experienced turnaround professionals
• Turnaround management and project management acumen and expertise
