What You’ll Contribute:
We are seeking an experienced, business-savvy Consumer Lending Attorney to join our legal team. This individual will serve as regulatory counsel and strategic advisor for our private student loan business and support all facets of marketing, origination, and underwriting. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in consumer financial laws and regulations, including the CAN-SPAM Act, Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B, Bank Secrecy Act, state and federal UDAAP laws, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Telephone Consumer Protection Act, among others. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design and implementation of innovative new products and services and closely monitor newly enacted legislation and regulatory developments to assess their impact on the organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide legal guidance on the design and development of new products, features, services, and potential partnerships.
- Support digital advertising initiatives and campaigns and evaluate marketing/advertising collateral to ensure it complies with applicable law.
- Analyze and interpret newly enacted laws and regulations, advise key stakeholders of potential impacts, and implement solutions as necessary.
- Review policies and procedures, customer communications, and other disclosures.
- Review and coordinate responses to consumer complaints and inquiries from regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders.
