Restaurant Manager for Independent Living!

Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC. We are currently seeking a Full-time Restaurant Manager to join our team in Independent Living! The Restaurant Manager is primarily responsible for the direct supervision of dining services staff in all restaurants with support from the Sr. Restaurant Manager. Ensures satisfactory dining experience of residents, guests, and others. Monitors and maintains a courteous and efficient quality of services in all restaurants and catering events. Directs employee training and development based on a current training program for Host, Hostess, Servers and Assistant Servers. Maintains appearance and cleanliness of all restaurants, equipment, serving areas to present a neat and orderly work environment. Requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis. Helps create cocktail menus, wine menus, bar menus, as well as for special events.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operations: Ensures all FOH restaurant operations are compliant with Galloway Ridge and departmental policies and procedures, as well as state and federal health and food regulations. Ensures that service employees follow dress code and policies and procedures. Inspects venues prior to each meal period, ensuring cleanliness, order, and safety. Ensures that established order of service routines are followed. Assures customer satisfaction and addresses concerns. Assigns sections and duties prior to, during, and after meal periods. Conducts pre-service stand-up meetings. Ensures regularly scheduled   cleaning is completed in restaurants, stations and other areas. Administrative duties include recordkeeping, filing, printing, completing reports, etc.
• Training and Development: Conducts and monitors new FOH employee onboarding and training with oversight by the Sr. Restaurant Manager. Ensures effective use and implementation of training programs. Maintains productivity, efficiency, and accuracy of work of all FOH Restaurant Employees.
• Professional   Development: Demonstrates professional development/skills competency. Participates in assigned in-service, projects, and committees. Maintains certifications. Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting to changing environments and requirements. Continually improves skills through educational opportunities. Maintains knowledge of federal, state and other   regulations. Demonstrates understanding of policies and procedures or seeks clarification. 
• Safety and Security: Complies with departmental and GR safety rules and practices. Reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel. Reports injury of resident, visitor, or employee to supervisor immediately. Provides assistance  to residents, visitors, employees during emergencies following proper emergency procedures.
• All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.

Requirements

• Three to five years of restaurant supervisory experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• The restaurant manager should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
• Possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong customer service skills, and be knowledgeable on restaurant procedures and practices. 
• Must be proficient in the operation of computer applications.
