Warehouse Manager

Job Description:

Description: This position will oversee all logistics within the facility. This position will oversee the Shipping & Warehouse departments and Finished Goods Inventory in all aspects.
Responsible managing the team of forklift drivers and the Shipping Coordinator to ensure that all customer orders are shipped on time and accurately; along with efficiently handling of finished product, packaging materials and other in-coming and out-going materials inventories.
Essential Job Duties:

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics including:

• Oversee Shipping team to ensure load quality and standard operating procedures are followed.

• Work with Production Scheduler on upcoming production runs to ensure timely production and delivery of finished goods.

• Work with Shipping department to ensure customer orders are filled in a timely manner.

• Work with Customer Service to address any customer complaints or issues in a timely manner.

• Manage employees effectively: hiring, onboarding, employee relations and terminations.

• Foster a positive work environment among hourly associates and management.

• Coordinate and direct warehouse personnel.

• Manage the shipping schedule to ensure the plant is meeting customer order dates and kpi standards are meet.

• Manage the finished product and packaging materials inventories, including cycle counting, inventory adjustments and year-end inventory activities.

• Direct involvement in and oversight of the forklift operator training programs.

• Oversee warehouse cleanliness and organization.

• Partner with quality and food safety to ensure SOP’s are in place and in practice, critical control points are managed and sanitation is effective.

• Partner with maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning to specifications.

• Lead people and teams to ensure skills are appropriately applied, learning and development are occurring, and proper levels of self-discipline are maintained.

Manage and resolve non-conformance issues.

Skills & Requirements:

• BS degree in Operations Management, Logistics or equivalent is preferred. However, a combination of experience and education will be taken into account.

• 5+ years of experience overseeing manufacturing logistics.

• Food Manufacturing experience is highly desirable

• Must be a self-starter and take initiative to get the job done

• Must engage with all levels of the organization from hourly to executives

• 3-5 years’ experience in successful warehouse management in a food manufacturing plant required.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements required.

• Knowledge of high-performance teams, quality management, ability to coach and develop people and teams a plus.

Food Quality:
Oversee and verify:

• Correctness of shipping and receiving paperwork

• Shipping seals

• Freight equipment

• Customer service

• Report any quality issues to the FS/QA Manager or other company official

Food Safety:

• Oversee department activity and following of

• Company cGMP program

• Company policies and sanitation procedures when completing maintenance activity

• Reporting any food safety issues to the FS/QA Manager

Occupational Safety:
Follow company safety protocols and procedures
Report any identified safety risks to safety committee member or management
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Position may require lifting, bending, crawling, kneeling, standing or sitting for long periods of time, reaching, frequent walking and climbing ladders, working in hot and/or dusty environment.
