Senior Product Manager, Postsecondary
New Visions for Public SchoolsAbout the role
Who We Are
New Visions for Public Schools is a long-standing partner to New York City public schools, with over three decades dedicated to continuously improving the quality of K-12 education. We believe in the transformative power of public schools, and work alongside key leaders to address the complex challenges NYC students and families face.
As a Senior Product Manager at New Visions, you'll drive the development of innovative tools and features that empower public schools, especially as we've significantly expanded our digital footprint over the last five years. Our core product, the Webby Anthem Award-winning Portal by New Visions, is a web-based, enterprise school management application that consolidates essential student data into a modern, intuitive interface, surfacing key indicators related to student progress. It highlights critical areas where attention is needed on the student level, and contextualizes that information across an entire school or network, supporting improved student outcomes in attendance, graduation, and postsecondary planning.
The Role
We're looking for a talented Senior Product Manager to join our mission-driven team. This is an amazing opportunity to profoundly impact a long-established industry in service of helping students thrive in school and career. You will work closely with a passionate, welcoming group of engineers, designers, and data scientists, collaborating with stakeholders across multiple organizations to define our postsecondary strategy and elevate postsecondary features. Your work will be crucial in establishing the Portal as a key operational tool for New York City public schools, universities and beyond. In this role, you'll also help evangelize product-driven best practices across the organization and solve complex problems for our scaling enterprise application.
Who You Are
You're an accomplished Product Manager with a proven track record of successful product launches that delivered meaningful impact. Your expertise spans the entire product lifecycle:
- You have defined and managed multi-project roadmaps, skillfully balancing competing demands.
- You've led end-to-end projects, adeptly translating vague ideas into intuitive, scalable, and delightful products.
- You are deeply user-oriented, with extensive experience in user research and discovery best practices.
- You are meticulous, recognizing how the smallest details can have a significant impact, yet always capable of stepping back to see the big picture.
- You're a natural leader who influences without direct authority and fosters well-running teams.
Above all, you are passionate about public service and the prospect of solving challenging problems that significantly impact urban schools, students, and families.
What You'll Do
In this pivotal role, you will deeply own and implement the product strategy for the postsecondary space, focusing on features and critical relationships with CUNY and the NYC Public Schools (NYCPS) postsecondary team. You'll gain a profound understanding of our programmatic work with schools and partners, identifying key problems and opportunities. Your leadership will be crucial in aligning senior stakeholders across multiple organizations around a clear vision that prioritizes the highest impact work.
You'll work hand-in-hand with designers, data analysts, and engineers in solution discovery, constantly iterating and validating assumptions. You'll own the entire software development lifecycle, utilizing agile methodologies, and play a vital role in evangelizing a product-driven process within our established organization as we scale our digital offering.

- Proficiency with one or more tools for managing software delivery, roadmapping, whiteboarding, and data analytics (e.g. Jira, Miro, Airtable, Google Sheets, Mixpanel)
