About the Job:
We are seeking detail-oriented, extremely thorough, diligent, self-starting individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Financial Accountant (FA) will be a key member of the Accounting and Finance Department, and a critical member of the financial accounting and financial reporting functions of the business. The Financial Accountant plays an integral part in the organization’s operations and month-end close process.
You will develop, implement, and maintain best practices in accounting and financial reporting, including account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, expense report approval, and month-end close procedures. You will manage Accounts Payable, ensuring timely invoice processing with vendors and internal stakeholders. Success in this role requires staying updated on financial regulations and practices, participating in educational opportunities, and networking within the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Identify areas of opportunity to improve visibility and design the process to do things differently.
- Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to process invoices.
- Implement the processes needed to capture and report the right data in key internal systems.
- Continually develop, expand and improve month end close and financial reporting procedures and help drive the reduction of the close timeline by assessing and streamlining close-related activities.
- Participate in department or cross functional projects/initiatives.
- Lead accounting strategic initiatives by working cross-functionally to balance growth and retention investments within our overall financial targets.
- Manage the accounts payable process, including communication with vendors and ensuring invoices are coded properly in the GL.
- Play an integral part in the month end close process, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations as well as analyzing monthly trends..
- Record prepaid expenses, fixed and intangible assets, other assets and various accruals.
- Perform various treasury duties including reconciling cash and preparing vendor payments.
- Assist in preparation of documentation for the year-end audit.
- Various Ad-Hoc projects based on the Company’s needs.
Requirements
- 2-4+ years of progressive corporate finance management and public accounting experience (Big 4 experience preferred)
- Highly detail-oriented and organized in work and ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Ability to act and operate independently
- Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, and management to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication, and facilitation skills which will enable him/her to interact with a range of personalities and styles and be able to establish effective relationships of all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Takes ownership; ability to set a strategy and motivate others to achieve necessary deliverables
- Unquestionable integrity and personal ethics
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
