Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
Support maintenance turnaround (T/A) activities through detailed planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of turnaround-related work scopes and major maintenance projects. Ensure bid packages, technical documentation, contracts, QA/QC requirements, and project deliverables are prepared, tracked, and completed in accordance with project schedules, regulatory requirements, company standards, and safe work practices. Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, and site leadership to promote safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations while maintaining compliance with environmental, health, safety, and process safety management requirements.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Process Safety Management (PSM) / Risk Management Plan (RMP) Compliance: Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs to identify, evaluate, and mitigate process safety risks across operating units and maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements as well as company policies, procedures, and site objectives. Participate in Management of Change (MOC) reviews, process hazard analyses (PHA/HAZOP), incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and contractor safety oversight to strengthen operational safety and regulatory compliance.
Turnaround Planning, Scheduling & Project Execution: Assist maintenance turnaround teams in developing detailed work scopes, schedules, manpower requirements, material planning, contractor coordination, and bid packages for turnaround and major maintenance activities. Support contract administration and ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved schedules, specifications, and QA/QC requirements. Monitor project progress, track milestones, coordinate field execution activities, and communicate status updates to Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractor personnel to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
Maintenance Performance & Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives that improve maintenance planning and scheduling effectiveness while reducing reactive maintenance and unscheduled work activities. Coordinate closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve work execution, resource utilization, and equipment availability. Evaluate existing processes, systems, and maintenance practices to identify opportunities for operational, reliability, safety, and cost improvements. Recommend and support implementation of continuous improvement projects that align with industry best practices and site performance objectives.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure QA/QC documentation, inspection records, contractor deliverables, and project documentation are properly developed, maintained, and executed in compliance with company standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
