Your Role and Responsibilities The Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Research Department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center works in various areas including systems-level innovation, Linux kernel innovation, cloud management software, and acceleration of innovation to Cloud. We are seeking Software Engineers to contribute to the sustainability aspects of an Infrastructure as a Service software stack for AI systems . We are seeking a wide range of experiences, and we encourage both recent graduates and experienced Software Engineers to apply.

As a Software Engineer in the Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Research Department, you will be responsible for the deployment of bare metal, OpenShift, and AI platforms in AI systems. You need a good understanding of performance analysis (performance/energy), Cloud environment (Open shift, Kubernetes and control plane), Cloud application development, power energy modeling, real time measurement/monitoring. You need solid understanding of OpenShift deployment in bare metal and virtualized environments. You need a solid understanding of distributed systems. To fulfill your responsibilities, you will be interacting with multiple Research and product teams.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

4 years experience with performance/energy analysis
4 year experience with Cloud environment (Kubernetes and their control plane management) on bare metal
4 year experience with Cloud application development
4 year experience with real time measurement/monitoring

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
1 year experience with OpenShift deployment and operation
1 year experience with Virtualized environment and Cloud environment deployment/operation
1 year experience with power/energy modeling
1 year experience with performance optimization
