About the role

The mission of the School of Hotel Restaurant Management at the University of South Florida is to provide excellence in teaching, research and service to all persons and to build foundations for lifelong learning. The School of Hotel and Restaurant Management prepares individuals for industry management and leadership roles in a global economy and interfaces with stakeholders to deliver hospitality professionals that add to the financial, intellectual, environmental, ethical and social growth of Florida and the Nation. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; productivity in scholarly activities; participation in curriculum and program development; appropriate service on college/university committees. This position is located on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.

Doctorate degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the hospitality discipline from an accredited university. ABD's will be concidered under the following conditions: Dissertation defended by August 1, 2010 and must have terminal degree by December 31, 2010. Must have earned Evidence of strong service in professional organizations.Evidence of teaching excellence and an outstanding record of scholarship or evidence of an established research agenda. Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in referred and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Professor Teaching experience in Hospitality Information Systems and Lodging management. Minimum of three years of hospitality industry managerial experience.
