The Work You Will Do:
Highway Maintenance Technician District Six / Director of Operations / District Maintenance / South Dade Maint – Roadside Maint #1
This position supports the agency’s mission by performing roadside highway maintenance to ensure safe and efficient transportation for the public. Responsibilities include landscaping and the maintenance of vegetation, plants, and trees along roadways. Duties involve mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and removing debris to maintain clear visibility. This role requires the use of hand tools, power tools, and adherence to safety protocols while working in various outdoor conditions. Effective communication, the ability to follow directions, and teamwork are essential to completing tasks safely and efficiently.

Annual Salary Range:
$36,654.09 - $47,434.71
A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,934.40 will be added to the annual salary.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Upon receipt of the required CDL Instructional Permit or License; Operates a variety of vehicles and mechanized equipment to include backhoe, tractors with attachments, crew cabs, dump truck, etc. Performs pre-trip inspection/minor maintenance on vehicles/equipment that they are operating. Cleans and washes equipment. Oversees crews performing maintenance activities.
Uses a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools to maintain bridges and roadways. Performs independent manual labor incidental to job assignments at an intermediate level of complexity with minimal supervision.
