Position Overview
The Grant Accountant assumes responsibility for all sponsored project (grants) accounting, ensuring compliance with funding sources administrative guidelines and requirements, timely and accurate submission of financial reports, time receipt of revenue and orderly closure of sponsored projects. The Grant Accountant will also serve as an audit liaison.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High level math/accounting skills, strong reading comprehension skills, ability to interpret guidelines and instructions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and customer service
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of regulations related to sponsored projects from private, state and federal sponsors
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business administration preferably in accounting or finance.
- Prior experience in accounting, auditing, public administration, higher education, or other related fields.
- Three years of professional business administration, grant and contract administration, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Job Duties:
- Review and interpret award documents to determine financial invoicing and/or reporting requirements, adherence to sponsor regulations, polices to ensure appropriate billing requirements, accurate invoicing, allowable expenditures, payment provisions and financial reporting requirements.
