About the role

Role Summary

Pfirzer is seeking an experienced Senior Director to lead market access initiatives for Obesity portfolio. This individual will guide the team responsible for developing and executing payer marketing, pricing, contracting, and evidence strategies that support patient access while preparing for future label expansion opportunities. The role requires a leader who understands the complexities of new product commercialization Here, access isn't inherited, it's defined.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial strategy for national and regional payers and employers, along with customer leadership in retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and wholesale accounts
  • Create the value story, in partnership with enterprise Market Access teams on contracting execution
  • Identify and address key product barriers to access and performance by applying advanced understanding of contracting and pricing strategies, payer analytics, and payer market trends
  • Lead Medicare and Medicaid strategy and government program engagement
  • Implement a player-coach leadership style to achieve key access objectives while overseeing a team of direct reports

Leadership Capabilities

  • Can build a business case and a value story compelling enough to drive change and influence cross-functional effort
  • Represents the brand's access strategy to senior Pfizer leadership and to external payer and health system executives
  • Develops the people and account relationships that will carry this strategy forward as the portfolio grows

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in market access, payer strategy, or related commercial roles in pharma or biotech
  • Direct experience negotiating or shaping payer, employer, or health system value propositions
  • Experience partnering with enterprise contracting, legal, and regulatory functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the GLP-1 category or another rapidly evolving, high-growth therapeutic area
  • Track record building creative access solutions in a market where the reimbursement model itself is still being defined
  • Retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or wholesale account experience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $358,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
